I’d like to introduce you to

Tommy Tak Co-Founder of ETA Headphones

I’m not sure if Tommy remembers that we used to interact with one another randomly when I first got into the hobby of headphones years ago… but, I definitely remember. He was always kind and easy to talk to and took the time to answer this old dude’s questions or even just respond. It was never anything crazy and I went by a different screen name back then, but I remember him always being one of the good ones.

Fast forward a couple of years and we rekindled our conversations, but this time over his new headphones that he is creating with his friends Ev and Tom! The amount of passion and drive these gentlemen put into their craft is amazing! I enjoy their headphones so much that I own a set of their O2s and use them frequently! You can even find some of the photos I took of some of their headphones on their site (thank you for liking my photos enough to deem them worthy of that, cheers gents!).

But, I digress… let’s get back to learning a little bit about Tommy with a quick Q&A:

Q: What album/songs do you test your headphones with? (underlined items are links to the music via songwhip)

A: Tracy Chapman by Tracy Chapman (songwhip.com) Live Vol. 1 by Parcels (songwhip.com) Random Access Memories by Daft Punk (songwhip.com)

Q: What album/songs would you include with your headphones if you could?

A: 김광석 다시 부르기 I by Kim Kwang Seok (songwhip.com) Vol. 1-3 (I’ve only linked one volume here)

Q: What drove you to create ETA?

A: I started off as a hobbyist like everyone else here and eventually, I wanted to create something of my own with my friends and have fun doing it!

Q: "Quick” bio about yourself?

A: Not too long ago, I was a pre-med student preparing to apply to medical school. During COVID, I discovered 3D printing/CAD and I fell in love with product design/development. I've always loved to create things with my hands, so designing headphones felt very much at home. In my spare time, I like to draw/paint portraits, build/modify my 2-channel setup or anything DIY, and weight-lifting at the gym. I am currently trying to train for the LA marathon next year, but we'll see how that goes haha

Thank you for taking the time to read about my friend Tommy Tak
